This position requires a highly skilled individual who can work independently with minimal supervision, interpret electrical drawings, troubleshoot hardwired circuits, and support equipment installations at customer facilities. The ideal candidate will have experience wiring automation systems, electrical panels, PLCs, motors, relays, switches, and safety devices such as light curtains. Candidates should possess strong troubleshooting abilities and be comfortable supporting projects from initial build through customer installation and commissioning. Essential Responsibilities Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, layouts, and controls drawings. Wire automation systems, machine tooling, and industrial equipment. Install and wire electrical panels, circuits, relays, switches, PLCs, motors, weld controllers, and safety devices. Layout and install electrical equipment around automation systems. Debug and troubleshoot hardwired circuits, control systems, and electrical components. Utilize electrical meters and testing equipment to diagnose issues. Assist with machine startup, commissioning, and customer installations. Support equipment disassembly, packaging, and shipment preparation. Ensure customer specifications and project requirements are followed throughout the build process. Update electrical BOM summaries and coordinate non-BOM material requirements. Follow project schedules and maintain progress toward deadlines. Maintain accurate documentation and communicate project status to supervisors. Participate in team meetings and continuous improvement initiatives. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Follow all company safety, quality, and environmental procedures. Travel to customer facilities for equipment installation and support as required. Required Qualifications Minimum 5 years of experience as a Machine Tool Electrician, Industrial Electrician, Automation Electrician, or similar role. Technical school certificate or equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams, blueprints, and schematics.
Experience wiring:
Automation systems Electrical panels PLCs Motors and drives Relays and control circuits Safety systems including light curtains Proficient troubleshooting and debugging electrical systems. Experience using electrical meters and diagnostic equipment. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong understanding of industrial safety standards and electrical best practices. Must possess personal hand tools and required PPE. Preferred Qualifications Automotive automation or machine tool build experience. Experience supporting robotic or automated assembly systems. Knowledge of customer specifications and industrial installation requirements. Experience with commissioning and startup activities. Familiarity with E-BOM management and project scheduling. Physical Requirements Regular standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, and climbing. Ability to frequently lift up to 10 lbs. and occasionally up to 25 lbs. Ability to work around moving mechanical equipment and energized systems. Ability to work at heights when required. Must have close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
