The position may train and direct the work of laborers or other employees or helpers. This position supports operations across a large campus environment and requires the employee to travel between multiple buildings and work sites located throughout the campus to perform assigned duties and respond to operational needs. The incumbent must be able to travel between campus locations in a timely and reliable manner to carry out essential job functions. When job duties require the operation of a motor vehicle to access work sites, transport equipment, or respond to service needs, the employee must be able to safely operate a vehicle and possess a valid and unrestricted driver's license. Duties include but are not limited to: Install, maintain or repair all electrical distribution panels and related electrical equipment throughout the campus ensuring work orders are completed and equipment operates safely with maximum efficiency and reliability, downtime is minimized and all work meets electrical code requirements and NEC standards. Provide maintenance to the facilities copper and fiber systems infrastructure including working on networking hardware and providing connectivity on systems such as the Energy Management system, SCADA system, Fire System and Data networks ensuring equipment operates safely with maximum efficiency and reliability, downtime is minimized and all work meets electrical code requirements and standards. Implement the electrical equipment and systems preventive maintenance program ensuring buildings, structures, and their related electrical components are regularly inspected in accordance with established construction industry standards and city, state, and federal codes and downtime, energy and maintenance costs are minimized. Keep current on, implement and enforce safety practices ensuring compliance with all OSHA requirements, rules and regulations. Primary working schedule of May 6 through August 7 each year, Wednesday•

7:00 P.M. to 12:00 A.M.(midnight). Includes weekends with occasional adjustments based on event needs. Shift differential applies as outlined in the AFSCME contract. Able to read blueprints and schematic wiring diagrams. Able to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, electronics, and malfunctions, with a strong knowledge of electrical parts and equipment. Demonstrates an effort to improve cultural competence and actively takes steps to include diversity training as part of their professional development.
