Journeyman Electrician

Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and reliable Journeyman Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in residential, commercial, or industrial settings. You should be comfortable working independently or as part of a crew while ensuring all work meets safety and code requirements. Duties Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment in commercial, industrial, and renovation settings using hand tools and power tools. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to accurately execute electrical installations. Work with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and low voltage systems to support automation and control functions. Conduct testing using tools such as ohmmeters to diagnose electrical issues and ensure system integrity. Follow all safety protocols in accordance with NEC standards, including working safely with high voltage and low voltage systems. Collaborate with construction teams on site to coordinate electrical work within framing carpentry, renovation projects, or new construction. Maintain detailed records of work performed, including inspections, repairs, and compliance documentation. Assist with schematic reading for troubleshooting complex electrical systems in industrial or commercial environments. Use schematics and technical manuals to guide installation or repair procedures efficiently. Support handyman tasks related to electrical needs on construction sites or during renovations as required. Experience Proven experience as a licensed Journeyman Electrician with a strong background in industrial and commercial electrical systems. 3+ years of electrical experience Hands-on experience working on construction sites, renovations, or new builds involving electrical installations. Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), schematics, blueprints, and control wiring is highly desirable. Skilled in using hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wire strippers; power tools including drills and saws; as well as testing devices like ohmmeters. Knowledge of high voltage (HV) and low voltage (LV) systems along with NEC regulations for safe electrical practices. Experience reading technical drawings and schematics accurately to execute complex wiring tasks. Ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced construction environments while adhering to safety standards. Additional handyman skills or frame carpentry experience are a plus for supporting broader project needs.
