- Full-time Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Journeyperson Electrician to join our team, responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems across various residential and commercial sites.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with electrical systems, including low and high voltage applications, and be proficient in reading schematics and blueprints. This role requires a strong understanding of NEC standards, programmable logic controllers, and the use of various hand and power tools. The Journeyperson Electrician will ensure all work complies with safety regulations and industry standards, contributing to the successful completion of renovation, service and construction projects. Responsibilities Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems in industrial and commercial settings, adhering to all electrical codes and safety standards. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to accurately execute electrical installations and repairs. Utilize hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, and other testing equipment to diagnose electrical issues effectively. Work on low voltage and high voltage systems, ensuring proper wiring, grounding, and circuit integrity. Program and troubleshoot programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to support automation processes. Collaborate with construction teams during renovation or new construction projects to install wiring, conduit, panels, and related electrical components. Maintain detailed documentation of work performed for compliance and future reference. Follow safety protocols at all times to prevent accidents or hazards on-site. Assist in training apprentices or junior team members as needed. Skills Proven experience as a residential or commercial electrician with a valid journeyperson license. Strong knowledge of electrical code standards, schematics reading, blueprint interpretation, and electrical codes. Proficiency with, low voltage systems, high voltage systems, and schematics. Skilled in using hand tools (e.g., screwdrivers, pliers), power tools (e.g., drills), ohmmeters, and other diagnostic equipment. Experience working on construction sites involving renovation or new builds. Ability to read technical drawings accurately for installation or troubleshooting purposes. Familiarity with frame carpentry or maintenance person skills is a plus for supporting structural tasks related to electrical work. Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in complex electrical environments.
