Electrical Apprentice

Pay Rate:

$18.00 an hour

SUMMARY:

To assist with the day-to-day electrical maintenance. Responsible for a high level of guest service as described in your departments guest service standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist licensed electrician with tasks such hanging and bending pipe, pulling wire and installing electrical apparatus, which may include new construction, repair and maintenance of facility fixtures and marina electrical Provide electrical support for tradeshows and concerts Provide electrical maintenance and installation support to IT and Surveillance UPS systems Assist licensed electrician working with outside electric company with tasks such as switching, outages, transformer change outs, etc.

KNOWLEDGE AND CERTIFICATION, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Knowledge and Certification Required:

High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience Basic knowledge of AC and DC electrical circuits Basic knowledge of tools, terms and components as they relate to the electrical trade (side cutters, fish tape, ¾" PVC connector, etc.)

Preferred:

Previous work experience in either high or low voltage Working knowledge of generators and electrical distribution

Accurate and detail-oriented Highly organized and ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills Excellent problem solving skills Strong electrical aptitude

Abilities Required:

Ability to work fast and efficiently completing multiple tasks in a professional manner Ability to follow established dress code policies and practice good personal hygiene Ability to interact with guests, coworkers and management in a professional and courteous manner Ability to manage projects in a timely and efficient manner

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to walk and / or stand for periods of up to 8 hours Must have a good sense of balance, and be able to bend and kneel Must be able to reach and twist routinely Must be able to push, pull and grasp objects routinely Must be able to climb a ladder and work in high elevations Must have the ability to independently lift 25+ pounds routinely Must have manual dexterity necessary to manipulate electrical equipment Must be able to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions Must have good eye hand coordination and be able to work overhead with hand

WORKING ENVIRONMENT
