POSITION SUMMARY
Maintenance Electrical position within a manufacturing environment. Under general supervision, maintains, troubleshoots and services electrical and electronic systems, machinery, and controls. Maintains production and quality of the facility by ensuring safe and efficient operation of machinery and mechanical equipment. Reports to Maintenance Supervisor.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Perform all duties in a safe and collaborative manner and immediately report any potentially dangerous conditions or other safety concerns to the supervisor.
  • Start up and shut down equipment in accordance with operation's requirements, company safety procedures and OSHA requirements for machine activation and shutdown.
  • Perform work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical theory and principles, statutory codes, and principles of operation of electrical equipment.
  • Plan work procedures and determine replacement needs or new material required and develop a logical approach to correct the problem.
  • Analyze circuits, wiring diagrams and drawings to install, repair, calibrate, service and replace electronic devices and systems.
  • Lays-out, assembles, installs, tests, repairs, and adjusts electrical fixtures, apparatus, equipment, wiring and to include panels, breakers, and conduit.
  • Repair, install, replace, and test electrical circuits, equipment and motors using appropriate tools and testing instruments.
  • Troubleshoot and repairs electric controls, motor control centers and programmable logic controls.
  • Works with each department providing necessary electrical support to ensure day-to-day maintenance issues are resolved and maintain a log of any highlights occurring during shift coverage.
  • Works with other maintenance staff to answer questions and further develop department's technician's knowledge and comprehension of electrical theory and safety.
Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them. Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, or other parts of machinery. Repair or replace defective equipment parts, using hand tools and power tools, and reassembling equipment. Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, systems operate efficiently, and the physical condition of the presses does not deteriorate. Inspect drives, motors, and belts. Check fluid levels, replace filters, or perform other maintenance actions, following checklists. Operate cutting torches or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts. Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly checks for GFSI requirements. Perform PMs on equipment and other general maintenance tasks as assigned by management.
  • Maintain equipment logs that record performance problems, repairs, calibrations, or tests.
  • Performs other duties as assigned. SAFETY
  • Must follow all Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE) Hazard Assessment requirements.
  • Must follow all Environmental Health and Safety procedural requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School diploma or GED required. Technical or professional certification preferred and/or completion of an appropriate apprenticeship program.
  • 2+ years' experience and/or equivalent training in industrial high voltage electrical maintenance
  • 480 volts.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Must have proven experience and ability in mechanical, electrical, and electronic maintenance trouble shooting techniques.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in a one-on-one or small group situation.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skill acquired via sufficient job experience: o AC Circuits and Machinery o DC Circuits and Machinery o Electrical Troubleshooting o Allen Bradley and other PLC experience required o National Electrical Code experience is a plus
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Climb ladders, operate Scissor lift and work at heights as high as 25'. Must be able to tolerate loud noise, and heat.
