Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Marine Electrician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems on marine vessels and related equipment. Your expertise will ensure the safe and efficient operation of electrical components in a challenging maritime environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, utilizing your technical skills to keep marine operations running smoothly and safely. Responsibilities Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems on marine vessels, including wiring, lighting, navigation, and communication equipment. Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and blueprints to accurately perform installations and repairs. Use hand tools, power tools, soldering equipment, calipers, and precision measuring instruments to complete tasks with high accuracy. Conduct rigging and mechanical work as needed for electrical component installation or maintenance. Perform heavy lifting and fabrication tasks involving sheet metal and other materials to support electrical system setups. Maintain detailed records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities in compliance with safety standards. Collaborate with team members and clients to ensure all work meets quality standards and project specifications while providing excellent customer service. Skills Proven service technician experience with electrical systems in marine or industrial environments. Strong understanding of schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals. Military background or experience working in military settings is a plus due to familiarity with rigorous standards. Extensive electrical experience combined with mechanical knowledge for comprehensive troubleshooting. Skilled in rigging, fabrication, welding, soldering, sheet metal work, and the use of hand tools and power tools. Experience with vehicle maintenance or mechanic work is advantageous for versatile problem-solving skills. Ability to use precision measuring instruments such as calipers and ohmmeters for accurate diagnostics. Knowledge of maintenance procedures for heavy equipment and vessel systems. Excellent customer service skills to effectively communicate technical information to clients or team members.
