Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Marine Electrician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems on marine vessels and related equipment. Your expertise will ensure the safe and efficient operation of electrical components critical to maritime operations. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge marine technology in a fast-paced environment. Duties Uses hand tools, for example connection boxes, circuit breakers, voltage regulators, and switch panels. Terminates of cabling, coax cables using strippers and soldering iron. Connecting power-supply circuits to radios, radars, fire control, and other electronic equipment. Tests and troubleshoots electrical systems voltage, resistance and amps in circuits using multi meters, and phase rotation indicators. Understands antenna cable readings with VSWR and DB loss. Constructs instrument panels, switch panels, navigation panels and communication systems. Performs maintenance and repair of consoles, comm boxes, engines, circuit breakers, electrical motors, distribution panels, alarm and lighting circuits. Conducts insulation resistance measurements of electrical cables to determine condition and effects repairs or replacements as required. Assists in the installation and/or alteration to electrical systems aboard ships or boats. Maintains electrical system maintenance histories notating date, and extent of repairs and/or alterations. Observe all safety procedures are being followed in accordance with 40 CFR 262 Skills Proven service technician experience in marine or industrial electrical systems Strong ability to read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and wiring diagrams Military background or experience working on military vessels is highly desirable Extensive electrical experience with DC Voltage Systems Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, calipers, and precision measuring instruments Ability to read blueprints Ability to perform maintenance tasks safely while adhering to strict safety protocols
