Full Job Description Job Overview Core Responsibilities:
Client focus on complex manufacturing, chemical plants, and heavy industrial facilities, a contract Industrial Electrician is typically responsible for:
Power Distribution:
Installing, terminating, and maintaining medium and low-voltage power systems, switchgear, and motor control centers (MCC).
Conduit & Raceway Systems:
Bending and running heavy-wall conduit, pulling wire, and layout out complex raceway networks.
Equipment Relocation & Commissioning:
Wiring newly installed or relocated heavy manufacturing machinery, generators, and industrial transformers.
Control Systems:
Installing and troubleshooting instrumentation, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), and automated process controls.
Blueprints & Compliance:
Reading technical schematics, 3-line diagrams, and blueprints while adhering strictly to the National Electrical Code (NEC) and OSHA safety standards.
Typical Requirements Experience:
Minimum 4-6+ years of heavy industrial or commercial electrical experience.
Skills:
Proficient in industrial troubleshooting, large cable termination, and conduit bending.
Certifications:
Completion of an accredited apprenticeship or equivalent trade-specific licensing is preferred;
OSHA 10/30
card is typically required for site access.
Availability:
Capability to work the full duration of the 6-month contract, including potential overtime or shift flexibility dictated by project deadlines.
Pay:
$25.00 - $30.00 per hour
Experience:
Industrial electrician: 3 years (Required) switchgear: 2 years (Required)
