Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a Commercial and Residential Electrician to join our team! In this vital role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems across a variety of settings, including commercial buildings, residential properties, and renovation projects. In this role you will supervise and train apprentices while performing the duties required for new construction, commercial upfits, residential remodels, and other projects. The candidate must also possess skills and knowledge required to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair issues with electrical circuits. Knowledge and experience with single-phase and three-phase electrical systems required. Must be reliable and dependable. This is a small company, and each employee is a critical part to our operation. Duties Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical wiring, outlets, switches, panels, and fixtures in both commercial and residential settings. Read blueprints, schematics, and electrical schematics to accurately execute project plans. Use hand tools, power tools, low voltage testers, ohmmeters, and other electrical testing equipment to diagnose issues and ensure proper system operation. Interpret NEC (National Electrical Code) standards to ensure all work complies with safety regulations and building codes. Manage renovation projects by updating existing wiring systems or installing new electrical components efficiently. Collaborate with construction teams on site to coordinate electrical installations with framing carpentry and other trades. Conduct routine inspections of electrical systems using schematics and blueprint reading skills to identify potential hazards or code violations. Utilize programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for industrial automation tasks when applicable. Perform maintenance on industrial electrical systems, including high voltage equipment and low voltage controls. Maintain detailed records of work performed, materials used, and safety inspections for project documentation. Requirements Must have own hand tools, impact driver, and drill (all battery powered). Proven experience as an electrician in both commercial and residential environments with a strong understanding of NEC standards. Hands-on experience with commercial and residential electrician tasks and construction site work. Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and electrical diagrams. Skilled in using hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wire strippers; power tools like drills; as well as testing devices including ohmmeters and low voltage testers. Knowledge of high voltage (HV) and low voltage (LV) electrical systems. Up to 480V AC and low-voltage data and controls. Ability to interpret schematics accurately for troubleshooting complex electrical issues. Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in diagnosing electrical faults efficiently. Valid drivers license required with clean driving record. Physical ability to perform manual labor including lifting heavy materials, climbing ladders, bending, and standing for extended periods. $24.00 - $28.00 per hour
