Job Description
Overview We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman Electrician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems across a variety of commercial, industrial, and construction sites. Your expertise will ensure that all electrical work complies with safety standards, local codes, including the National Electrical Code (NEC), and industry best practices. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, from renovation to new construction, utilizing your technical skills and hands-on experience to deliver high-quality electrical solutions. Duties Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems using hand tools, power tools, schematics, and blueprints. Read and interpret electrical schematics, construction drawings, and technical manuals to accurately execute projects. Work with low voltage and high voltage systems, ensuring proper wiring and safety protocols are followed. Utilize testing equipment such as ohmmeters to diagnose electrical issues efficiently. Collaborate with project teams on construction sites to ensure timely completion of electrical installations and renovations. Maintain compliance with NEC standards and local electrical codes during all phases of work. Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on electrical systems to ensure ongoing safety and functionality. Demonstrate proficiency in working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and industrial electrician practices when required. Apply your handyman experience for minor repairs or adjustments outside of core electrical tasks as needed. Ensure all work is performed safely while adhering to OSHA regulations and company safety policies. Requirements Valid Journeyman Electrician license or certification recognized by local authorities. Proven experience as an electrician in industrial, commercial, or construction environments. Strong knowledge of NEC standards, schematics, blueprints, and construction drawings. Experience working with low voltage systems, high voltage wiring, and industrial control systems including PLCs. Proficiency with hand tools such as wire strippers, pliers, screwdrivers; power tools including drills and saws; ohmmeters; and other testing devices. Ability to read technical schematics and blueprints accurately for installation or repair projects. Construction site experience with renovation projects or new builds preferred. Familiarity with frame carpentry or basic handyman skills is a plus for supporting miscellaneous tasks on-site. Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a proactive approach to safety and quality assurance. Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and project managers.
