Journeyman Electrician -
Solar Construction Location:
Emerson, Nebraska (Project base)
Home Base:
Sioux City, IA Compensation:
$60-$63/hr
Schedule:
Full‑time, onsite, field‑based
Travel:
Required for active solar project sites
Per Diem:
If Eligible About the Role We're seeking a skilled Journeyman Electrician to join a high‑performing solar construction team supporting large‑scale, ground‑mount solar installations. This is a hands‑on field role for someone who takes pride in craftsmanship, thrives outdoors, and is ready for long‑term project travel within the region. What You'll Do Install, terminate, and test electrical equipment for utility‑scale solar arrays Perform conduit runs, wiring, combiner box installation, and inverter terminations Interpret electrical drawings, one‑lines, and site plans with accuracy Support commissioning teams and troubleshoot electrical or system issues Ensure all work meets NEC , site safety, and quality standards Collaborate with site leadership, electricians, and solar installation crews Travel between active project sites as needed to support ongoing builds What You Bring Active Journeyman Electrician License (state‑specific or reciprocal) Experience in solar , commercial electrical work, or large‑scale construction Strong understanding of electrical systems, PV equipment, and jobsite safety Ability to work independently and as part of a field crew Organized, safety‑driven, and adaptable to changing site conditions Why This Opportunity Stands Out Long‑term career growth in the renewable energy sector Consistent project pipeline with contract‑to‑hire potential Team‑oriented, safety‑first culture Work that directly contributes to clean‑energy infrastructure Work Environment 100% onsite, field‑based role on ground‑mount solar construction sites Outdoor work in varying weather conditions Standard construction schedules with project‑based travel Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Omaha, NE. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $61.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
