Job Overview Facilities Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment that support company buildings, grounds, and facility operations. This role performs electrical work on lighting systems, power distribution, panels, circuits, motors, controls, and facility infrastructure to ensure safe and reliable operation of company facilities. The ideal candidate possesses strong electrical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while maintaining compliance with electrical codes and safety standards. Duties & Responsibilities Electrical Installation & Maintenance Install, maintain, repair, and upgrade facility electrical systems and equipment. Install and service electrical panels, breakers, disconnects, outlets, switches, lighting systems, and related components. Install conduit, pull wire, and terminate electrical connections according to applicable codes and specifications. Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues involving power distribution, lighting, motors, and control systems. Perform electrical work associated with facility renovations, expansions, and improvement projects. Assist with installation and relocation of facility equipment requiring electrical service. Preventive Maintenance & Troubleshooting Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on facility electrical systems. Diagnose electrical failures using meters, testing equipment, and electrical schematics. Identify potential hazards, deficiencies, and equipment concerns before failures occur. Respond to electrical service calls and emergency repair situations. Safety, Compliance & Documentation Perform all work in accordance with National Electrical Code (NEC), OSHA regulations, and company safety policies. Follow lockout/tagout procedures and electrical safety requirements. Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, maintenance activities, and installations. Report safety concerns and recommend corrective actions when necessary. Facilities Support Support Facilities, Maintenance, Engineering, and Production departments as needed. Coordinate with contractors and vendors during facility projects. Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and organized condition.
Work Schedule Standard Schedule:
Monday - Friday Overtime:
As needed for facility projects, maintenance shutdowns, or emergency repairs. Requirements for the Position Strong knowledge of electrical theory, wiring methods, and electrical safety practices. Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals. Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems efficiently and accurately. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe work practices. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Qualifications Required High school diploma or equivalent. 3+ years of commercial, industrial, or facilities electrical experience. Valid driver's license. Preferred Licensed Electrician (Journeyman or equivalent). Experience in manufacturing or industrial facilities. Experience with motor controls, VFDs, transformers, and electrical distribution systems. Familiarity with generators, emergency power systems, and facility automation controls. OSHA safety training and lockout/tagout experience. Physical Demands & Work Environment Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing ladders, and working in elevated areas. Ability to lift and carry tools, materials, conduit, wire, and electrical equipment. Work performed indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Exposure to electrical systems, noise, dust, vibration, and industrial environments. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is always required.
