Gate Operator Field Technician Scott's Fencing Albuquerque, NM Job Details Full-time $18 - $23 an hour 9 hours ago Qualifications Driver's License Full Job Description Do you like figuring out why things don't work? We're looking for someone who's mechanically sharp, comfortable around electrical systems, and takes pride in solving problems others give up on. Gate operator experience isn't required — but if you understand how mechanical systems move, how low voltage circuits behave, and how to work through a diagnostic process step by step, you'll pick this up fast. Some of our best technicians had zero gate experience when they started. What they had was the right mindset and the right skill set. What You'll Do Install, troubleshoot, and repair automated gate operators and access control systems at commercial and residential job sites Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues — identify the root cause, not just swap parts Run conduit, pull wire, and connect low voltage control wiring Dig, trench, and set posts as part of full system installations Test and inspect completed systems before job closeout Represent Scott's Fencing professionally with customers and general contractors on active job sites What We're Looking For Mechanical aptitude — you understand how things are built, how they move, and why they fail Comfort with low voltage electrical systems — reading a basic wiring diagram, tracing a circuit, identifying a fault A systematic approach to diagnosing problems Willingness to do physical work — digging, lifting, working outdoors in New Mexico weather Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Ability to pass a background check and drug screening Reliable, self-directed, and communicates well Nice to Have (Not Required) Experience with access control, automation equipment, or low voltage systems Commercial construction site experience Familiarity with 24V DC control circuits What You'll Get $18-$23/hr depending on experience Stable, year-round work with an established local company Hands-on training in gate operator systems and access control Work alongside a team that takes quality seriously About Scott's Fencing Co.
