Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman Electrician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems across various settings, including commercial, industrial, and renovation projects. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects that challenge your skills and expand your experience in the electrical trade. Responsibilities Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems using hand tools, power tools, schematics, and blueprints. Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams to accurately execute projects. Work with low voltage and high voltage systems in compliance with NEC (National Electrical Code) standards. Utilize programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for automation tasks in industrial settings. Conduct renovations and construction work on existing electrical infrastructure while ensuring safety protocols are followed. Diagnose issues using tools such as ohmmeters and multimeters to identify faults efficiently. Collaborate with construction teams on site to coordinate electrical installations and ensure project timelines are met. Maintain detailed records of work performed, materials used, and inspections completed for compliance purposes. Requirements Valid journeyman electrician license or certification recognized in the relevant jurisdiction. Proven industrial electrician experience with a strong understanding of industrial control systems and schematics. Commercial electrician experience is highly desirable, with familiarity in construction site environments. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, and other electrical testing equipment. Experience reading blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams accurately. Knowledge of NEC standards, low voltage wiring practices, and high voltage safety procedures. Ability to work on renovation projects as well as new construction sites with a handyman or frame carpentry background preferred. Strong understanding of electrical codes related to construction and renovation projects. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex electrical issues efficiently. Prior experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) in industrial settings is a plus. Construction site experience demonstrating adaptability in fast-paced environments.
