Job Title:
Electrical Mechanic Job Description You will be responsible for bending EMT with hand benders and table benders, as well as managing conduit bends ranging from 1/2 to 3/4 inches. You will build conduit rack systems, pull wire through conduit systems, and work on exposed conduit and racking systems. Your expertise will be crucial in wiring lighting control systems and ensuring compliance with NEC codes. You will also handle MC & BX rough-ins, three-way switches, outlets, fire alarms, and the installation, wiring, and finishing of branch circuits and distributions. Responsibilities Bend EMT using hand benders, table benders, and manage conduit bends. Build and install conduit rack systems. Pull wire through conduit systems. Work on exposed conduit and racking systems. Wire and install lighting control systems, including Lutron systems. Ensure compliance with NEC codes. Manage MC & BX rough-ins, three-way switches, outlets, and fire alarms. Install, wire, and finish branch circuits and distributions. Communicate with general foremen on daily tasks. Troubleshoot and correct electrical work issues. Work on 120-480 Volt electrical systems. Read and interpret blueprints and electrical layouts. Essential Skills Minimum of 8 years of experience as a full mechanic. Proficiency in reading blueprints independently. Full knowledge of NEC code. Ability to troubleshoot and correct work. Experience in wiring lighting systems and control systems. Expertise in conduit bending and pulling wire through conduit. Additional Skills & Qualifications Physical and active SST 10-hour card. Work Environment This role requires travel to all five boroughs, accessible via public transportation. Workdays are 8 hours long, starting between 6:00am and 7:00am, with a half-hour unpaid lunch and a 15-minute coffee break. The work environment is professional and safety-focused.
