Essential Functions:
Professional communications skills, both written and verbal. Five or more years' experience in troubleshooting, repair, and service of manufacturing and facility equipment. Minimum three years of technical training. Electrical knowledge (DC and AC) and industrial power distribution systems. Understanding and experience with stamping presses and associated equipment (feeders, straighteners, de-reelers) as well as rebuilding said equipment. General machine tool experience. Understanding and experience with industrial electronics in CNC machine control and PLC or relay logic controls. Understanding and experience with AC and DC drives, servo motors, and controls. Understanding and experience with motors, transformers, and generators. Ability to use electrical test equipment, such as ammeters, ohmmeters, voltmeters, high potential testers, phase testers, mega-ohmmeters, oscilloscopes, etc. Experience regarding hydraulic and pneumatic repair/service. Ability to read and follow blueprints and schematics/control diagrams. Initiative and creativity; must be able to produce high quality work on tight schedules and be willing to work odd hours. Ability to work closely with and assist Dayton-Phoenix Group salaried and hourly personnel as well as outside contractors and must maintain a good working relationship with all. Fit for
Duty:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, walk, reach with hands or arms, climb/balance, stoop, kneel, crouch/crawl, talk/hear, taste/smell, and use hands to touch, handle, or feel. Ability to lift 40 pounds with coordination and manual dexterity. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Ability to work with heights (30+ feet) and use all types of fall protection. Ability to work in extreme heat situations (Near ovens, furnaces, boilers, ceiling) for extended periods of time. Ability to work in tight spaces (in, above, and under machines, equipment, etc.) Ability to wear appropriate arc flash equipment as well as general PPE (gloves, breathing masks, aprons, safety glasses, steel toed footwear, cold weather gear, etc. provided by company).
General Functions:
Must utilize maintenance work order system to receive tasks, update projects, and document work performed. Perform research to resolve issues. Must be able to operate forklifts, manlifts, and material handling equipment (cranes, hoists, pallet jacks, etc.) Must actively participate in technical training or otherwise deemed necessary. Must be willing to work on tasks other than machine repair (work area housekeeping, lean events, fabrication, etc.) Ambition, staying on task, and adhering to company policies (safety procedures, etc.) Must enroll in company first response team (Maintenance must be CPR certified, annual training provided by company). Ability to work outside when required (groundskeeping, snow removal, etc. and cold weather gear will be provided by company). Troubleshooting and repair of HVAC systems.
