Job Description

About the Role As an Electrical Maintenance Technician, you will serve as a critical member of our technical team, ensuring the reliability and efficiency of complex industrial systems. You will leverage your expertise in automation and power distribution to minimize downtime and optimize the performance of heavy-duty manufacturing equipment. Responsibilities Diagnose and resolve complex issues with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), variable frequency drives (VFDs), and overhead crane systems. Restore functionality to critical infrastructure, including furnace controls and rolling mill automation, to maintain continuous production flow. Execute proactive maintenance strategies on motors, circuits, and sensors to prevent operational interruptions. Interpret intricate electrical blueprints, P&IDs, and technical documentation to guide effective repairs. Uphold the highest safety standards by strictly adhering to LOTO procedures, NFPA 70E arc flash requirements, and OSHA compliance. Demonstrate physical versatility by performing tasks at heights, navigating challenging industrial environments, and managing equipment loads. Qualifications Required Skills High school diploma or GED equivalent. Completion of a formal registered apprenticeship or relevant technical degree in electrical systems. Proven proficiency in electrical troubleshooting and industrial control systems. Demonstrated ability to work in demanding environments with exposure to heat, noise, and industrial debris. Preferred Skills Valid Journeyman Electrician license. Prior experience working within a heavy industrial or melt-shop setting. Advanced knowledge of industrial automation and diagnostic software.
