Journeyman Electrician

Overview We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman Electrician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems across a variety of commercial, industrial, and renovation projects. Your expertise will ensure that electrical work complies with all safety standards and electrical codes, including the National Electrical Code (NEC). Responsibilities Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment in accordance with blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications. Read and interpret construction blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams to execute projects accurately. Utilize hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, and other testing devices to diagnose electrical issues effectively. Work on low voltage and high voltage systems while adhering strictly to safety protocols and NEC standards. Install programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for automation processes in industrial settings. Conduct renovation work on existing electrical systems, ensuring upgrades meet current codes and safety standards. Collaborate with construction teams on site to ensure timely completion of projects while maintaining safety and quality standards. Maintain detailed documentation of work performed, including inspections, repairs, and system modifications. Experience Proven experience as an industrial electrician or commercial electrician with a strong understanding of electrical systems in construction environments. Hands-on experience reading blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings related to electrical installations. Familiarity with NEC regulations and safety procedures for both low voltage and high voltage systems. Skilled in using hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wire strippers as well as power tools like drills and saws. Experience working on construction sites with knowledge of framing carpentry and handyman tasks is preferred. Ability to operate ohmmeters for testing circuits or components effectively. Prior experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) in industrial settings is a plus. Strong background in renovation projects involving electrical upgrades or system replacements.
