SUMMARY:

Install, maintain, and repair complex electrical and electronic production equipment and facility electrical systems in accordance with Company objectives, production requirements, and State of Oregon electrical codes. Perform duties on any one of three shifts in operation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

include the following. Other comparable duties may be assigned. Install electrical equipment, wiring, and fixtures in conformance with company specifications and electrical codes. Install, maintain, and repair power supply to all areas of facility, managing time in accordance with production priority as determined by processing schedule. Diagnose and repair electronic equipment. Diagnose and read programs for programmable logic controller equipped machines using personal computer and applicable software as required. Upgrade/retrofit existing equipment with newer electronic technology. Design or change programmable logic controller logic circuits to enhance operation of equipment. Install electrical distribution equipment. Read, draw, and interpret specifications, blueprints, and electrical diagrams. Analyze, diagnose, test, and repair or replace malfunctioning equipment, machinery, and apparatus. Consult with co-workers, supervisor, and plant management as necessary to resolve difficulties. Repair and/or recondition electric motors. Repair or replace faulty electrical components. Bend and install conduit for two and three wire control systems in compliance with electrical wiring code. Connect power supply wires to machines and equipment and connect cable and wires between machines and equipment. Diagnose and repair or replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment. Communicate and maintain records of activities in accordance with company specifications and electrical codes. Perform duties without other electrical assistance on shift. Lead electrical apprentices and journeyman electricians in performance of job duties, as required. Maintain safe and sanitary work area.

EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or GED. Successful completion of the State of Oregon Journeyman Electrician Training program. Continuing education as required to maintain Manufacturing Plant Journeyman Electrician's card. Minimum of two years, with demonstrated satisfactory skills and abilities in that position, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents in English. Ability to legibly write routine reports and correspondence in English. Ability to communicate effectively in one on one situations.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Manufacturing Plant Journeyman Electricians License. Oregon Potato Co. hi-lift training. Lockout training. First Aid training recommended. OTHER SKILLS and

Ability to work independently. Ability to work overtime and weekends. Ability to rotate or work any shift. Ability to practice and emphasize safety to co-workers in performance of all job functions. Ability to provide leadership to journeyman and apprentice electricians. Ability to attend class related training. Ability to operate equipment and tools specific to job.
