Job Description

Overview We are seeking a skilled and motivated Commercial Journeyman Electrician to join our dynamic team to complete a prevailing wage summer project. This role involves installing a theatrical dimming system, house lights, aisle lights, work lights, and other general commercial electrical work. As a Journeyman Electrician, you will leverage your extensive electrical experience to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant electrical operations. Your expertise in blueprint reading, schematics, and electrical codes will drive successful project execution from renovation projects to new construction sites. This temporary project position offers an exciting opportunity to work on a prevailing wage project while honing your skills in a fast-paced environment. Estimated project timeline June 22-August 31st, 2026. Duties Install lighting systems using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment such as ohmmeters and multimeters. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to accurately complete wiring and installation tasks. Work on low voltage and high voltage systems ensuring compliance with NEC (National Electrical Code) standards. Install ETC theatre control lighting system. Aisle Lighting, House Lighting. Conduct renovations and upgrades on existing electrical infrastructure in commercial building. Collaborate with construction teams on site to ensure electrical work aligns with project specifications and safety standards. Utilize schematics and technical manuals to diagnose issues efficiently, minimizing downtime for clients. Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to all safety protocols including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) Demonstrate handyman skills such as framing carpentry or basic low voltage wiring when necessary for project completion. Qualifications Valid Commercial Journeyman Electrician license or certification recognized by State of Oregon. Proven experience as an industrial electrician or commercial electrician with a strong understanding of electrical lighting systems. Extensive knowledge of NEC regulations, schematics reading, and blueprint interpretation. Hands-on experience with low voltage systems, high voltage installations, and power distribution. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, multimeters, and other testing devices. Experience working on construction sites including renovation projects and new builds. Must be able to pass school district background check. Ability to read technical schematics and schematics related to PLCs and industrial controls. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex electrical issues efficiently. Knowledge of construction framing carpentry or handyman skills is a plus but not required.
