Electrician 2

As an Electrician 2 for the Pennsylvania State Police, you will help maintain the electrical systems that keep buildings and equipment operating at their best. Your work supports essential public safety services by ensuring dependable power and reliable equipment. This position supports the electrical needs of Pennsylvania State Police facilities by installing, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of electrical systems. The role ensures safe operation of power systems, equipment, and building components. As an Electrician 2, you will perform the following duties:

Electrical Work:

Install, maintain, and repair wiring, lighting, panels, and related electrical systems

Equipment Repair:

Fix motors, relays, switches, controls, and electrical appliances

System Maintenance:

Service generators, fire alarms, door alarms, and panel boxes

Technical Reading:

Interpret technical sketches and blueprints to complete electrical tasks

Snow Removal:

Plow snow using assigned vehicles and equipment during winter months

Preventive Checks:

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

Telework:

You will not have the option to telework in this position.

Salary:

Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $45,907.00 (before taxes). FREE parking! QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Six years of experience installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems, components, and equipment, including two years performing skilled electrical installation and repair work in commercial, industrial, or multi-unit residential structures; or An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes two years performing skilled electrical installation and repair work in commercial, industrial, or multi-unit residential structures.

Special Requirement:

This position requires possession of an active motor vehicle license.

Additional Requirement:

You must be able to perform essential job functions.
