This energetic role involves installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical systems across commercial construction sites and renovation projects. The ideal candidate will bring a proactive attitude, a strong foundation in electrical principles, and experience working with complex systems such as programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and low voltage wiring. You will play a vital role in ensuring the safety, efficiency, and reliability of electrical infrastructure in commercial environments. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects that challenge your technical expertise and problem-solving skills. Duties Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems in commercial buildings, including wiring, lighting, and power distribution. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to accurately execute installation and maintenance tasks. Use hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, and other electrical testing equipment to diagnose issues and verify system performance. Work with low voltage systems such as security alarms, fire alarms, data cabling, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs). Collaborate with construction teams to ensure electrical work aligns with project timelines and safety standards. Conduct renovations by updating or replacing existing electrical infrastructure while adhering to NEC (National Electrical Code) standards. Maintain detailed records of work performed, including inspection reports, schematics updates, and compliance documentation. Requirements Proven experience as a commercial electrician with a strong background in industrial electrician tasks preferred. Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams accurately. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, high voltage systems, and low voltage wiring techniques. Knowledge of NEC standards and safety regulations related to high voltage and low voltage electrical work. Experience working on construction sites or renovation projects within commercial settings. Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), schematics reading, and troubleshooting industrial electrical systems. Hands-on experience with ohmmeters and other electrical testing devices for diagnostics. Ability to perform frame carpentry tasks or handyman duties as needed during project execution. Strong communication skills for coordinating with team members and understanding project requirements.
