Road Service Electrical/Mechanical Technician

Job description Parkinson Technologies Inc., a leading designer and manufacturer of large-scale winding, web-handling, and plastics processing equipment, has an immediate opening for a Road Service Electrical/Mechanical Technician who's comfortable working hands‑on with industrial equipment and can represent the company professionally at customer sites. This is a field‑based role that combines electrical troubleshooting, mechanical repair, and customer support. You'll travel to customer facilities to help install new machinery, diagnose issues, and keep equipment operating at its best. You'll be the person customers count on when they need clear answers, solid technical skills, and someone who understands how to keep production running. The work is hands‑on, problem‑solving focused, and no two days are quite the same.

You will:

Assist with equipment installation, alignment, and startup. Verify wiring, mechanical setups, and safety checks. Support on‑site commissioning with company engineers when required. Diagnose and repair electrical issues such as sensors, drives, motors, and control panels. Perform mechanical repairs, adjustments, and component replacements. Identify root causes and recommend practical, lasting solutions. Complete service reports, parts lists, and job summaries. Communicate follow‑up needs to the internal service and engineering teams.

You need:

Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting ability Experience with industrial equipment, maintenance, or field service Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings Familiarity with motors, drives, sensors, and industrial control hardware Willingness to travel regularly (domestic, with occasional international trips) Good communication skills, especially in customer‑facing situations. Experience with PLC-controlled machinery Preferred Exposure to web handling, winding, plastics, or converting machinery Prior field service background Parkinson Technologies values a creative and open working environment.
