- Read and interpret blueprints to determine electrical layouts
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical control, wiring, and lighting systems
- Inspect electrical components, such as transformers and circuit breakers
- Identify electrical problems using various testing devices
- Follow state and local building regulations based on the National Electric Code Skills
- Proficiency in frame carpentry for electrical installations
- Ability to read and understand schematics and blueprints
- Experience working on construction sites
- Knowledge of both high and low-voltage systems
- Familiarity with power tools and hand tools used in electrical work
- Competency in using an ohmmeter for electrical testing
