Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist Journeyman or Master Electrician with the installation of conduit, tray, wire and electrical equipment. Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a professional manner with customers, clients, co-workers, and management. Ability to assist in conducting electrical work in accordance with relevant codes, and customer specifications. Effectively generate and communicate detailed work records and paperwork.
PHYSICAL ASPECTS OF THE JOB
Frequent lifting and carrying of materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. Pushing and pulling electrical conduit, trays, and equipment into position. Climbing ladders, scaffolding, and manlifts to access work areas at various heights. Standing, kneeling, crouching, and bending for extended periods during installation and repair tasks. Working in confined spaces and varying environmental conditions including outdoor settings in the field. (West Texas and New Mexico). Operating forklifts, manlifts, trenchers, and other mechanical equipment as required.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION
AND CERTIFICATIONS
0-4 years in the industrial electrical field in upstream Oil & Gas sector. Ability to help fabricate and install conduit, tray, wire and electrical equipment. Maintains an apprentice card showing that he or she is in an apprenticeship for the state of Texas. High School diploma or equivalent. Must have a valid driver's license and will need to meet the company and company's insurers driving policy requirements. Applicable regulatory safety training is a plus. Need to be fit for duty.
SKILLS:
Knowledge of most electrical components commonly found in the oil and gas industry is a plus. Ability to work safely and recognize potential hazards. Competent with the use of tools and equipment as it relates to the electrical trade.
PERSONAL RELATION SKILLS
Must be a detail-oriented, results-driven individual with a commitment to quality, accuracy and the ability to organize and prioritize workloads to meet deadlines. Must possess strong interpersonal and excellent communication (written and oral) skills. Must be able to work collaboratively and cooperatively, take direction, work well in a team environment, and interact with all levels of management, engineering, systems, operations and field personnel.
EQUIPMENT USED
Multimeter Megger Amp Probe Calibration equipment (Hart, Crystal, Loop calibrators, etc.) Handheld electrical tools needed to perform his or her job duties. Forklift, Manlift, trencher etc.
WORK CONDITIONS
Applicants need to be local to the west Texas area to work from Big Springs, TX to Carlsbad, NM on short notice. Position will work primarily in the field. Subject to time pressures and constraints and is also dependent on input from others. Must have a valid driver's license and will need to meet the company's insurers driving policy requirements. Subject to a background check, as well as drug and alcohol testing, per applicable federal regulations.
