Job Description
Electrical Apprentice
- Odessa/Midland
Bitcoin Mining/Data Center Pay Range:
$15- $25 per hour Power the future of digital infrastructure.
- Perform electrical work under the supervision of a licensed Journeyman or Master Electrician in compliance with OSHA, NEC, and all applicable local electrical codes.
- Assist with installation, wiring, and termination of electrical panels, conduit, cable trays, breakers, and related equipment within the mining facility.
- Support the installation and connection of PDUs, transformers, and UPS systems as directed.
- Pull wire, run conduit (EMT, rigid, PVC), and perform basic rough-in and finish electrical tasks.
- Maintain company tools, equipment, and materials in good working order, including proper storage and inventory tracking.[1]
- Follow all PPE requirements and site safety protocols; participate in daily safety briefings and job hazard analyses (JHAs).
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and free of hazards.
- Collaborate with operations and electrical teams to meet project milestones and uptime goals.
- Document work performed, materials used, and issues encountered, and report to the supervising Journeyman or Project Lead. This role has no supervisory responsibilities. Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Currently enrolled in or graduate of a state-approved electrical apprenticeship program (IBEW or equivalent) preferred.
- Basic knowledge of electrical theory, wiring methods, and the National Electrical Code (NEC).
- Ability to read and interpret basic electrical schematics and blueprints under supervision.
- Ability to work under pressure in fast-paced, industrial environments.
- Demonstrated teamwork, reliability, and strong work ethic. Nice to Have
- Experience in manufacturing, warehouse, construction, or industrial electrical environments.
- Familiarity with data center or large-scale power distribution environments.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
- Ability to troubleshoot basic electrical issues independently with high attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn from experienced tradespeople. Physical Requirements & Work Environment
- Work performed in industrial data center/mining environments with loud noise, high heat, air particulates, and varying or extreme weather conditions.
- Regular physical effort including lifting over 50 pounds, extended standing, kneeling, and working in confined or elevated spaces.
- May require weekends, nights, or on-call work as part of the regular schedule.
- Majority of work is on-site at the Big Spring, TX facility; some work in office environments may be required.
- Strict adherence to electrical safety standards, lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures, and PPE protocols at all times.
