Job Title:
Journeyman Electrician - Industrial/Commercial (Contract) Job Description This role offers an experienced journeyman electrician the opportunity to work in an industrial and commercial manufacturing environment focused on prefab modular data centers. You will perform electrical installations, integration work, and start-up activities within a factory setting in Red Oak, Texas. This is a three-month assignment with multiple openings, ideal for electricians with strong industrial or commercial backgrounds who want hands-on experience in a modern, technology-driven facility. Responsibilities Install, repair, and maintain the electrical components of industrial equipment and modular data center systems. Perform electrical installations as part of the assembly process for prefab modular data centers. Support integration activities by executing electrical integration solutions within the facility. Assist with start-up and commissioning of modular data centers, ensuring systems function safely and correctly. Work independently or as part of a team to complete projects accurately and on schedule. Follow all safety procedures and strictly adhere to applicable electrical codes and regulations. Interpret and apply information from schematics, blueprints, and other technical documents to complete assignments. Conduct quality assurance checks and inspections to verify that electrical work meets required standards. Complete all required administrative tasks, including torque sheets, 5S documentation, and tool inventory and tracking. Promote and model a "safety first" culture by consistently following safety policies, using proper PPE, and participating in safety audits. Install and bend conduit and route large cables in accordance with project specifications. Perform conduit work, wiring, and sensor installation based on blueprints and technical drawings. Work on ladders and at various heights while maintaining safe work practices. Lift and move materials and equipment up to 50 pounds as needed to support installation and assembly activities. Essential Skills Active journeyman electrician license. Proven industrial electrical experience, with commercial electrical experience also accepted. No reliance on residential-only electrical experience for this setting. Ability to read, understand, and work from schematics, blueprints, and other technical documents. Demonstrated ability to bend conduit and install large cables safely and accurately. Hands-on experience with conduit work, wiring, and sensor installation. Knowledge of pertinent electrical codes and regulations for industrial and commercial environments. Understanding and practical application of 5S (Five S) methodology in a manufacturing or factory setting. Capability to interpret and complete torque sheets and other technical documentation. Strong focus on safety, with the ability to follow and promote safe work practices. Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work on ladders. Ability to stand, walk, kneel, bend, and sit for extended periods of time in a factory environment. Proficiency in schematic reading and basic electronics relevant to industrial electrical work. Additional Skills & Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (GED). Associate degree or trade school certification in a related electrical field. Certificate of completion from an electrical apprenticeship program or equivalent journeyman-level experience. Manufacturing experience, particularly in industrial or modular systems, is a strong plus. Experience in a commercial or industrial manufacturing environment working alongside other journeyman electricians. Familiarity with 5S methodology and continuous improvement practices in a factory setting. OSHA 10 and/or OSHA 30 safety training. Experience with blueprint reading for conduit layout, wiring, and sensor installation. Comfort working in a climate-controlled manufacturing facility with structured processes and documentation. Work Environment The role is based in a climate-controlled manufacturing facility in Red Oak, Texas, dedicated to prefab modular data center production. You will work in a factory setting that follows strict safety protocols and utilizes 5S methodology to maintain an organized, efficient workspace. The environment is industrial and commercial in nature, with no residential work, and involves working with electrical equipment, conduit, large cables, and modular assemblies. You will collaborate daily with a team of around 20 other journeyman electricians and other technical staff. The position requires frequent standing, walking, kneeling, bending, and sitting for extended periods, as well as lifting up to 50 pounds and working on ladders. Overtime may be available depending on business volume, and work is performed indoors in a structured, process-driven setting with clearly defined procedures and documentation requirements. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Red Oak, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $38.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
