Pay:
$17.00/hour + 2nd Shift Premium Summary Join the Johnson Controls team as a Tube Fitter Apprentice at our San Antonio, TX plant. This role is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in the manufacturing industry. You will work under the guidance of experienced professionals while developing essential skills in tubing installation and electrical systems. Essential Job Functions Bend, form, and install all tubing on units. Perform tubing layout of units according to blueprints in shop packets. Identify and install valves and/or devices on units. Some knowledge of electrical systems required. Marginal Functions Perform housekeeping and other duties as required. Physical/Mental Requirements Lifting 50 lbs. (occasionally), standing (constantly), walking (frequently), bending (frequently), climbing (frequently), crawling (occasionally), reaching (frequently), grasping (frequently), sitting (occasionally), connecting (frequently), pulling (frequently), reading prints (frequently), and exercising judgment (frequently). Must understand and follow safety rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. Ability to follow written and oral instructions. Vision corrected to 20/20. Handling equipment (frequently). Environmental Factors Manufacturing environment - Exposure to noise, dirt, dust, cold/heat (indoor), and cold/heat (outdoor). Job hazards of working around heavy equipment and machinery. Tools and Equipment Used Tape measure, small hand tools, power tools, and drills. Qualifications Possess a complete understanding of Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID) on electrical drawings as applicable. Ability to use hand tools, electrical equipment, and measuring tape. Capability to maintain a clean and safe work area and/or equipment as required. Active participation in a Continuous Improvement Team is a condition of employment.
