Technician 2 (Lead Installer) -
Home Automation Systems, Greater Austin Area Job Description:
Our team specializes in designing and installing high-end residential home systems. We are currently seeking an experienced, meticulous, and enthusiastic Full-Time Technician 2 (Lead Installer) . We are looking for an Installation Technician II who can execute installation work independently, cleanly, and consistently. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in craftsmanship, follows detailed direction well, and can move assigned work forward without constant supervision. Responsibilities Execute residential AV, networking, automation, lighting control, shading, and related low-voltage installations Follow documented scope, system designs, task instructions, and company standards Complete assigned tasks independently and to a high standard Use proper tools, techniques, and materials for each installation Track time accurately and update task notes, checklists, and photos as required Identify and communicate issues early to prevent delays or rework Maintain clean, organized, and professional job sites Protect client property, finishes, and surrounding work areas What We're Looking For 2-5+ years of experience in AV, low voltage, smart home, electrical, construction, or a similar trade Strong mechanical and technical ability Ability to read plans, follow scope documents, and understand system layouts Comfortable working independently on assigned tasks Good communication and follow-through Organized, reliable, and professional Comfortable working in high-end residential environments Pride in clean workmanship and finished details What Success Looks Like Assigned work is completed cleanly, correctly, and efficiently Tasks move forward without constant supervision Time entries and documentation are accurate and timely Job sites remain clean and professional Issues are communicated early and clearly The team trusts the consistency and quality of your work Compensation & Benefits $28-$35/hr, based on experience Overtime opportunities Paid Time Off and paid holidays 60% employer-paid health and dental insurance High-end residential projects Proper tools, materials, and support provided Growth Path This role can grow into field supervision, advanced technical / programming roles, or project and operations support over time.
