We pride ourselves on our skilled craftsmanship and commitment to safety, innovation, and customer satisfaction. Job Summary We are seeking a motivated Electrical Apprentice to join our dynamic team. This paid position offers hands-on experience in electrical systems primarily associated with residential and light commercial HVAC applications. As an Electrical Apprentice, you will develop essential skills under the guidance of experienced electricians, supporting the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical systems across various projects. You will be registered as an Apprentice with the Vermont Department of Labor and Vermont State University, where you will receive education required to obtain Specialty or Master Electrician certifications. Duties Assist licensed electricians in installing and repairing electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment on construction sites and industrial facilities Use hand tools and power tools to cut, bend, and assemble electrical components according to schematics and blueprints Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams to support accurate installations Conduct basic testing of electrical circuits using tools such as ohmmeters and multimeters to ensure proper functionality Support the installation of low voltage systems including alarms, communication lines, and control panels Follow safety protocols related to high voltage and low voltage electrical work in accordance with NEC (National Electrical Code) standards Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and materials while adhering to construction site safety guidelines Qualifications Assist licensed HVAC technicians in the installation, maintenance, and repair of residential and light commercial heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. Install and connect HVAC electrical components, including system disconnects, dedicated circuits, equipment wiring, and grounding/bonding systems in accordance with applicable electrical codes and manufacturer requirements. Use hand tools and power tools to install, assemble, and service HVAC equipment, ductwork, piping, thermostats, and related components according to manufacturer specifications and job site requirements. Read and interpret HVAC schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical manuals to support accurate system installations and repairs. Perform basic testing and troubleshooting of HVAC systems using diagnostic tools such as multimeters, gauges, leak detectors, and temperature measurement devices. Support the installation and configuration of low-voltage control systems, thermostats, communication wiring, zoning controls, and building automation components. Assist with refrigerant charging, evacuation, and recovery procedures while adhering to EPA regulations and industry best practices. Follow all safety protocols related to electrical, mechanical, refrigerant, and confined-space work in accordance with OSHA standards and company policies. Maintain a clean and organized work environment by properly handling tools, materials, and equipment while adhering to job site safety requirements.
