Job Description

Milwaukee Valve Company is looking for a 1st Shift Licensed Journeyman Electrician to join our Prairie Du Sac, WI team in Department 270. All offers of employment by Milwaukee Valve Company, LLC. are contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen, blood test, physical capabilities test, and background check, all with acceptable results. Applicants are responsible scheduling and completing the required drug screen, blood test, and physical capabilities test within 7 calendar days of offer acceptance. The regularly scheduled hours for this position are 5:00AM
  • 1:30:
PM, Monday through Friday. Overtime may become a possibility or even required. When working overtime, the regularly scheduled shift is adjusted by 1-2 hours at either the beginning or end of the regularly scheduled shift. Overtime may also be requested or mandatory on Saturdays as well. All offers of employment made by Milwaukee Valve are contingent upon successfully completing our required drug screen and physical capabilities tests.

  • Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Requires ability to read blueprints, schematic / wiring drawings.
  • Requires ability to comprehend verbal/written instructions.
  • Requires ability to install and maintain all types of wiring, machinery installs, building projects and lighting systems.
  • Requires ability to inspect electrical components, such as bus bars, transformers, circuit breakers, electrical panels and circuit boards.
  • Requires ability to identify electrical problems with a variety of testing equipment.
  • Requires ability to repair or replace wiring, equipment, or fixtures using hand and power tools.
  • Must follow state and local building regulations based on the National Electric Code and Arc Flash requirements.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety throughout the department in a prescribed manner.
  • Required to have knowledge of all types of Electrician tools needed to perform their assigned tasks.
  • All work is subject to final inspection.
  • Requires ability to train other maintenance personnel to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring or equipment.
  • Will be required if needed to work in the Foundry and work some split shifts on occasions.
  • Will have the ability to sign off on other maintenance personnel's electrical work.
  • At times will need to troubleshoot machine controls and
PLCs Physical Requirements or Limitations:
Be able to stand for minimum for up to 8 hours, computer skills to be able to get and complete work orders. Possess basic maintenance knowledge of how to reach a machine manual. Education and/or Experience
  • One year certificate from college or technical school; or 2 to 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have a valid Journeyman's Card or Master's Card for Electrical (Licensed). Qualifications
