The company emphasizes building strong relationships with clients and the communities it serves. Job Summary This full-time Estimator / Preconstruction Manager role is an on-site position based in Phenix City, AL/ Columbus, GA. Responsibilities include preparing accurate cost estimates, reviewing project plans, conducting site assessments, collaborating with project teams, and identifying cost-saving opportunities. The role also involves managing preconstruction activities and maintaining efficient communication with clients, subcontractors, and vendors. Candidates should be detail oriented, self-starters who enjoy the challenges of interesting and diverse projects. Responsibilities Assist the Business Development Team as the Primary Point of Contact and Lead Person for the pre-construction effort on all types of projects and via all types of construction delivery methods. Manage multiple projects in varying states of design simultaneously. Participate in Presentations and Project Interviews as an expert in Preconstruction Services. Provide analysis of construction documents and effective alternatives for cost reductions. Provide complete quantity take-offs, analysis, and material pricing for various construction scopes as assigned. Assist in preparing a detailed estimate for the entire scope for assigned trades, building systems, and overall project costs. Solicitation of Subcontractors and Vendors for market pricing and biding of scopes of work. Search for potential bid opportunities. Assist in the development of detailed scopes of work and bid packages. Review and evaluate Subcontractor and Vendor proposals to ensure complete scope of work is covered and minimize the risk of scope gaps or double coverage. Serve as the Pre-construction Services point-of-contact with Subcontractors, Vendors, Owners, and Architects. Complete preliminary scheduling of project construction. Qualifications Minimum of a four-year degree in Construction Management or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience. 10 years of previous Commercial Construction Estimating and/or Field Experience in the K-12, Higher Ed, Municipal, Religious Institution, Medical, Industrial, Multifamily and/or Office Building required. In depth knowledge of CM/GC, Construction Manager at Risk, Design/Build, and Hard Bid delivery methods. Extensive experience with Conceptual Estimating and Preconstruction Services, with limited information. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Experience managing Junior Estimators preferred. Proficient using Planswift and Sage Estimating or similar programs. Familiar with Building Connected. Experience using Project Scheduling Software. Experience using Sage Estimating Software for Preconstruction Services preferred. Ability to read and interpret Construction Drawings and Specifications. Ability to multitask and prioritize duties under pressure. Ability to work as a part of a Team while maintaining flexibility, a high level of detail, and a positive attitude. Ability to communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, and team members.
