We are currently seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Civil Estimator to join our team. Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Civil Estimator Construction to join our team and drive the success of our heavy civil projects. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, analyzing project plans, and collaborating with project teams to ensure bids are competitive and profitable. Your expertise will help shape the foundation of our construction endeavors, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. Duties Develop comprehensive construction estimates by reviewing project plans, specifications, and drawings using industry-standard tools such as Bluebeam and HeavyBid software. Conduct detailed quantity takeoffs for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services to establish accurate pricing. Collaborate with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams through effective negotiation to secure favorable contracts and pricing agreements. Analyze project scope and requirements to assist in cost control strategies throughout the construction process. Prepare bid proposals that clearly outline costs, timelines, and assumptions while ensuring competitiveness in the marketplace. Assist in contract negotiations by reviewing terms, conditions, and scope of work to mitigate risks and maximize profitability. Support project management teams by providing cost forecasts, tracking expenses against budgets, and identifying potential cost overruns early. Utilize construction estimating software such as HeavyBid to streamline bid preparation and improve accuracy. Maintain detailed records of all estimating activities, correspondence, and contractual documents for transparency and audit purposes. Stay informed about industry trends, material prices, labor rates, and regulatory changes affecting construction costs. Experience Proven experience in heavy civil construction estimating with a strong understanding of construction site operations. Demonstrated proficiency with Bluebeam for plan review and markup processes. Extensive knowledge of construction estimating principles including quantity takeoffs, pricing strategies, and cost control measures. Familiarity with HeavyBid or similar estimating software for bid development. Strong negotiation skills to secure favorable contracts with clients and subcontractors. Hands-on experience in construction management or site supervision is highly desirable. Ability to interpret complex construction drawings, specifications, and contracts accurately. Excellent project management skills with an emphasis on budgeting, scheduling, and risk mitigation.
