Job Description
The Roark Group is looking to hire a full-time promotional items estimator. Estimators must have a keen eye for detail and quality control and enjoy working largely independently, within a fast-paced environment to achieve the highest quality results in the most efficient time frame possible. Summary The primary responsibility of the Promotional Items Estimator is to develop costs for items as requested by customers. Assure the product is up to the quality expectations of the customer while keeping budget and timelines in mind. The ideal individual will be an integral part of the unit's workflow, has an awareness of unrelated activities and must be able to interact and successfully complete projects with sales & senior managers.
Job Duties:
- Analyze documentation to prepare time, cost, materials and labor estimates.
- Engineer the best production plan for a project.
- Evaluate all methods available for producing a job and provide quotes based on the most economical method.
- Revise estimates as needed due to specification changes.
- Perform job cost analysis.
- Develop knowledge of materials available and recommends cost saving opportunities.
- Prepare estimates used by management for purposes such as planning, organizing and scheduling work.
- Consult with sales, vendors, personnel in other departments to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
- Must evaluate individual responsibilities and use initiative and resourcefulness to develop new methods, criteria or propose new policies.
- Maintain estimating standard procedures.
- Assure quality standards are met before delivering a quote.
- Utilize estimating software to provide quotes to assist account & project managers
- Consult with the appropriate department managers to determine production capabilities and optimal production process.
- Advise and provide direction and support to employees trying to determine specifications on a project.
- Work to minimize Roark's exposure to risk on projects.
Qualifications:
- Strong math, computer (namely Excel & Word) and analytical skills.
- Ability to work well under tight deadlines for projects of various size and scope.
- Positive "can do" customer focus and attitude.
