Senior Estimator Achen-Gardner Construction, LLC - 3.2 Chandler, AZ Job Details Full-time 18 hours ago Qualifications Customer communication Full Job Description We are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join our team at Achen-Gardner Construction. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the estimating process from start to finish, including the preparation of detailed cost estimates and bid proposals for construction projects. As a key member of our team, the Senior Estimator will work closely with other departments and stakeholders to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget. Responsibilities Reviews estimates and revisions for completeness and accuracy. Reviews construction documents and understands scope of work to bid. Prepare cost analysis by recapitulating material, labor, equipment, subcontractor, and overhead costs occurred in heavy civil projects. Execute take-offs of construction documents. Inputs take-offs data into estimating software. Utilize the company approved costing methodology, data, and systems to present estimate results in a detailed breakdown format suitable for use by the project manager and the project team. Attend client pre-bid meetings, visit job sites, and keep a record of all verbal information disseminated by the client during the pre-bid meeting. Prepare project cost estimates from the client's RFQ documents or bid packages. Source and incorporate all relevant submissions required into the bid package for submission. Generate proposals and recognize and incorporate the necessary notes and exclusions. Must have ability to explain details behind each estimate, including the basis of the man hours allocated for each task, personnel resources needed to execute each task, etc. Maintain cost estimating tools including databases, spreadsheets, and other computer-based applications to keep updated information on past performance and industry standards. Coordinate estimate handoff on successful pursuits. Organize all relevant estimate information and lead handoff meetings to pass all relevant information to the operations team. Maintain lines of communication between company departments, project manager, and client with regards to cost estimating activities. Other duties as assigned Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or adequate work experience. 10+ years of experience in construction estimating. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences. Experience with government contracts and compliance is a plus. Proficiency in estimating software such as HCSS Heavy Bid, On-Screen Takeoff, or similar software. Experience and capability of estimating municipal work withing the public right-of-way, underground utilities such as water and sewer lines, asphalt paving, concrete flatwork, concrete structures, earthwork, and large subcontractor packages.
