Job Description
Job Summary The Estimator 1 title is a full-time position within the preconstruction department at Steadfast Structures. The Estimator 1 provides administrative support for multiple ongoing project estimates. This role will involve reviewing initial design documents to accurately identify materials needed for the project, sourcing estimates from third-party vendors by phone and email, and compiling this information into a comprehensive budget and scope of work. The Estimator 1 is expected to be competent in basic estimating and organizational tasks and will have the ability to develop an understanding of more advanced estimating principles with provided training. Key Responsibilities 1. Reviews blueprints and project specification sheets and verifies basic building design information for processing. 2. Assists in the pricing of project materials based on provided project information. 3. Coordinates project material estimates with third-party vendors. 4. Accurately performs material quantity takeoffs. 5. Draft budgets and proposals for review by senior personnel. 6. Provides digital document control for assigned projects. Minimum Job Requirements 1. A basic understanding of building blueprints is a must. 2. Excellent organization skills for both digital and hard copy files. 3. Experience in estimating and technical writing preferred. 4. Proficient use of Microsoft Office programs. 5. Ability to learn and use new software (training provided).
