Senior Electrical EstimatorJob Summary We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Estimator to support the preconstruction and bidding efforts for commercial, industrial, healthcare, and institutional construction projects. The Senior Electrical Estimator will be responsible for developing accurate and competitive cost estimates, analyzing project documents, coordinating with vendors and subcontractors, and supporting project teams throughout the bidding process. This position requires extensive knowledge of electrical construction practices, estimating methodologies, and industry standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and capable of managing multiple estimates while meeting critical deadlines. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesEstimating & Preconstruction Prepare complete and accurate electrical cost estimates for commercial, industrial, healthcare, educational, and other large-scale construction projects. Review plans, specifications, drawings, and bid documents to determine project scope, requirements, and potential risks. Perform quantity takeoffs and labor calculations. Develop detailed material, equipment, subcontractor, and labor pricing. Solicit, review, and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotations. Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving alternatives. Prepare bid proposals, cost summaries, clarifications, and scope reviews. Project Analysis & Coordination Analyze project risks, constructability concerns, and scope gaps during the estimating process. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, contractors, owners, and suppliers to clarify project requirements. Assist with budget development and conceptual estimating during preconstruction phases. Support project turnover meetings and provide estimating documentation to operations teams after project award. Price change orders, scope revisions, and additional work requests as needed. Process Improvement & Quality Control Maintain accurate estimating databases, historical cost records, and pricing information. Support the development and improvement of estimating procedures, standards, and quality control processes. Ensure estimates are complete, accurate, and submitted within established deadlines. Stay current on industry trends, market conditions, labor rates, and material pricing. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered. Minimum of 5 years of electrical estimating experience within commercial, industrial, healthcare, or institutional construction. Proven ability to estimate complex electrical construction projects. Strong understanding of electrical systems, construction methods, and installation practices.
Ability to interpret and analyze:
One-line diagrams Electrical schematics P&IDs Wiring diagrams Construction plans and specifications Technical Knowledge Working knowledge of NEC, NFPA, UL, and other applicable electrical codes and standards. Understanding of electrical wiring methods, conductor sizing, de-rating factors, insulation classifications, and area classifications. Experience with electrical takeoff and estimating software. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint). Experience with Bluebeam Revu and McCormick Estimating Software or comparable estimating platforms preferred. Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet strict deadlines. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment. Compensation Salary Range:
$65,000 - $165,000 annually Actual compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, skills, geographic location, and other job-related factors. Additional compensation and benefits may be available depending on the position and employment package offered. Relocation support may be available for candidates who meet the position requirements and are willing to relocate.
