Job Description
Estimator – Heavy Civil Construction We are seeking a detail-oriented Estimator to support operations in the Southern Region. This role is responsible for preparing accurate and timely cost estimates for both public and private infrastructure projects. Responsibilities Review plans, specifications, soils reports, and site conditions to define project scope Attend pre-bid meetings and coordinate bid requirements Perform quantity takeoffs and develop complete cost estimates Manage pre-bid RFIs and track responses Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams Support DBE compliance and good faith effort documentation Analyze project risks and contract requirements Maintain organized estimating files and historical cost data Assist with budgeting, scheduling, and procurement planning Support project handoff to operations teams after award Prepare and manage subcontracts and purchase orders Track post-bid timelines through contract award Assist with change orders, cost tracking, and project support as needed Mentor junior staff and support business development efforts Qualifications Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience Minimum 3 years of estimating experience in heavy civil construction (highway, rail, underground, paving, bridge, or airport projects) Strong understanding of construction plans, specifications, and takeoffs Experience with: Bid2Win Bluebeam AGTEK SketchUp Primavera P6, SureTrak, or MS Project Knowledge of scheduling, critical path, and cost control Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines Valid driver's license required
Compensation & Benefits Salary:
