Senior Quantity Surveyor / Cost Manager

About the role Currie & Brown is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor / Cost Manager
  • Hook-up/Tool Installation to support a major semiconductor tool hookup and manufacturing expansion program in San Jose, CA .
This role will focus on equipment hookup and tool installation scopes associated with semiconductor manufacturing environments. The successful candidate will support cost management, estimating, commercial oversight, forecasting, subcontractor management, and change control activities across complex construction packages.
Responsibilities will include:
  • Manage construction cost activities from preconstruction through project closeout
  • Prepare and review estimates, budgets, forecasts, and cost reports for equipment hook-up and tool installation
  • Review contractor proposals, change orders, progress billings, and subcontractor pricing
  • Perform quantity takeoffs and detailed cost analysis
  • Support procurement planning, bid evaluations, and contract administration activities
  • Monitor project expenditures and identify commercial risks, cost variances, and mitigation strategies
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, engineering teams, contractors, and client stakeholders
  • Support forecasting, reporting, earned value analysis, and project controls coordination
  • Participate in project meetings and provide commercial recommendations to leadership teams
  • Ensure compliance with project controls standards and commercial governance requirements Requirements
  • Proven experience in quantity surveying, cost management, estimating, or commercial management for tech fabrication construction projects
  • Experience supporting semiconductor, cleanroom, pharmaceutical, advanced manufacturing, or mission-critical environments preferred
  • Strong understanding of tool installation and equipment hookup
  • Experience with forecasting, budgeting, change management, and cost reporting
  • Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and priorities Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred RICS, AACE, PMP, or related certifications are a plus
