In this pivotal role, you will oversee the development of accurate and competitive project bids, ensuring alignment with company goals and client expectations. Your expertise will drive the initial project planning, cost analysis, and risk assessment processes, setting the foundation for successful project execution. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence large-scale infrastructure projects through strategic estimation, fostering growth and excellence within our team. Responsibilities Lead the preparation of detailed construction estimates for heavy civil projects, including roads, bridges, tunnels, and site development works. Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to gather project specifications and develop comprehensive bid proposals. Utilize industry-standard estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam to produce precise cost analyses and project budgets. Conduct thorough quantity takeoffs, pricing research, and cost control evaluations to ensure competitive yet profitable bids. Manage subcontractor and supplier negotiations to secure favorable terms and reliable pricing. Review construction contracts, scope documents, and technical drawings to identify potential risks or discrepancies early in the process. Oversee the development of bid strategies that align with company objectives while maintaining transparency and accuracy throughout the estimation process. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market conditions, labor rates, material costs, and industry trends impacting heavy civil construction estimates. Support project management teams during contract negotiations and project kick-offs by providing detailed cost insights and risk assessments. Experience Proven experience in heavy civil construction estimating with a strong track record of preparing successful bids for large-scale infrastructure projects. Extensive knowledge of construction estimating tools such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam is essential. Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively with subcontractors, vendors, and clients to optimize project costs. Solid understanding of construction site operations, safety standards, contracts, and project management principles. Prior experience managing or leading an estimating team is highly desirable. Strong background in cost control, pricing strategies, and financial analysis within the construction industry. Construction site experience combined with a comprehensive understanding of construction management practices will be advantageous for this role.
