Job Description
Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Millwork Estimator to join our team and drive the success of our construction projects. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately estimating costs, preparing detailed bids, and collaborating closely with clients, vendors, and project teams to ensure seamless project execution. Your expertise will help us deliver high-quality millwork solutions on time and within budget, fueling our reputation for excellence in the construction industry. Duties Review architectural drawings, specifications, and project documents to develop precise millwork estimates. Utilize estimating software to prepare comprehensive cost proposals. Conduct detailed quantity take-offs for custom millwork components, including cabinetry, paneling, moldings, and fixtures. Collaborate with clients and project managers during negotiations to establish fair pricing and scope of work. Analyze project plans to identify potential cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality standards. Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to obtain accurate pricing and lead times for materials and labor. Monitor project budgets during execution to ensure costs align with estimates through effective cost control measures. Review contracts and scope of work documents to confirm all project requirements are accurately reflected in estimates. Support project management teams by providing detailed estimates that inform scheduling and resource planning. Experience Proven experience in construction estimating, specifically within millwork or custom cabinetry sectors. Solid understanding of construction estimating principles, including cost control, pricing strategies, and bid preparation. Construction site experience that provides insight into on-the-ground realities affecting estimates. Familiarity with construction management processes, contracts, and project lifecycle from inception to completion. Excellent negotiation skills to secure favorable terms with suppliers and subcontractors. Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contract documents accurately.
