We are seeking an experienced professional with at least 10 years of estimating experience in the commecial construction industry.
In this role, you will be responsible for preparing budgets, estimates, and pre-bid packages for construction projects built for our clients. Responsibilities include collaborating with General Trades and Project Management teams to develop schematic, design development, and construction document estimates. Additional duties include soliciting and evaluating subcontractor bids and scopes of work, preparing quantity surveys, and reviewing project plans and specifications across various trades and categories of work. The ideal candidate will have experience managing estimates for both large-scale projects ($10M-$100M) and smaller projects valued under $10M. Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills are essential, along with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment. Responsibilities Prepare comprehensive cost estimates for construction projects by analyzing blueprints, specifications, and project scope documents. Collaborate closely with project managers, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather accurate pricing data and negotiate favorable terms. Utilize estimating software such as and Bluebeam, Buildr, Togal, to develop precise budgets and bid proposals. Conduct detailed quantity take-offs and analyze labor, material, equipment costs to ensure competitive yet profitable bids. Review construction site conditions and incorporate site-specific factors into estimates to enhance accuracy. Monitor project costs throughout the construction process to identify potential overruns early and implement corrective actions. Skills Extensive experience in construction estimating with a strong understanding of cost control and pricing strategies. Proficiency in estimating tools for detailed project analysis. Solid knowledge of construction management principles, contracts, and project management practices. Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to secure optimal terms. Strong communication skills for clear collaboration across teams. Familiarity with construction site safety standards, budgeting processes, and project scheduling.
