Responsibilities Develop comprehensive construction cost estimates by reviewing project plans, specifications, and bid documents with precision and clarity. Collaborate closely with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to gather pricing data and negotiate favorable terms that align with project budgets. Utilize industry-standard software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam to prepare detailed estimates, proposals, and bid packages efficiently. Conduct thorough site visits to assess existing conditions, gather on-site data, and incorporate real-world factors into accurate cost projections. Manage the entire estimating process from initial scope review through final bid submission, ensuring all aspects of the project are accurately accounted for. Monitor project costs during execution to support cost control efforts and identify potential budget overruns early on. Assist in contract negotiations by reviewing terms related to pricing, scope of work, and project timelines to safeguard company interests. Skills Proven experience in construction estimating with a strong understanding of construction processes and terminology, or ability to quickly learn these skills. Proficiency in estimating software such as Bluebeam for creating detailed bids and proposals. Excellent negotiation skills to secure competitive pricing while fostering positive relationships with vendors and subcontractors. Solid knowledge of construction site operations, safety standards, and project management principles. Ability to analyze complex project specifications quickly and accurately translate them into reliable cost estimates. Strong understanding of contracts, scope management, and cost control strategies within the construction industry. Effective communication skills for collaborating with diverse teams, clients, and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
