Contracts Full Job Description Job Overview:
The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for demolition and excavation projects. This role requires strong analytical skills, construction knowledge, and the ability to interpret plans and specifications. The ideal candidate understands production costs, labor, equipment, hauling, and disposal, and can confidently build profitable bids.Key Responsibilities:
Review project plans, specifications, and scope of work Perform quantity takeoffs and cost analysis Conduct site visits when required Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates Calculate labor, equipment, trucking, disposal, and material costs Solicit and review subcontractor and vendor quotes (if applicable) Prepare and submit proposals and bid packages Work closely with sales, dispatch, and production teams Maintain organized bid records and documentation Assist in negotiating contracts and change orders Ensure all estimates meet company profit margin requirementsQualifications:
2+ years of estimating experience (construction industry required) Experience in demolition, excavation, or civil construction preferred Ability to read and interpret blueprints and plans Strong math and analytical skills Knowledge of production rates and equipment capabilities Proficient in Excel and estimating software Strong attention to detail Excellent communication and organizational skillsPreferred Skills:
Experience bidding public works projects (a plus) Knowledge of local permitting and disposal requirements Understanding of OSHA and safety regulationsPay:
