In this vital role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, analyzing project specifications, and collaborating with project managers and clients to ensure competitive pricing and successful project execution. Your expertise will help drive project profitability, manage costs effectively, and support the overall success of our construction projects. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to diverse projects across the construction industry while honing your estimating skills in a fast-paced environment. Duties Develop comprehensive construction estimates by reviewing project plans, specifications, and bid documents using tools like Bluebeam and HeavyBid. Collaborate with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to gather pricing information and negotiate favorable terms. Analyze project scope, identify potential risks, and incorporate cost control measures to optimize budget accuracy. Prepare detailed bid proposals, including pricing breakdowns, labor costs, material estimates, and contingency allowances. Review construction contracts and work closely with project management to ensure estimates align with project goals and contractual obligations. Assist in value engineering efforts to identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety. Maintain organized records of all estimating activities, revisions, and supporting documentation for transparency and future reference. Requirements Proven experience in construction estimating with a strong understanding of construction processes and terminology. Proficiency in estimating software such as HeavyBid; experience with Bluebeam is highly desirable. Solid knowledge of construction site operations, management practices, and contract administration. Excellent negotiation skills to secure competitive pricing from vendors and subcontractors. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications accurately. Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively under tight deadlines. Familiarity with cost control strategies, pricing techniques, and risk assessment methodologies. Preferred qualifications include hands-on construction site experience, knowledge of contracts and legal considerations in construction projects, as well as experience in project management roles within the industry.
