Job Description

Estimator (General Contracting)
Summary:
DC Construction is seeking an experienced Estimator with knowledge of both commercial and residential construction project knowledge. The ideal candidate has a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in project estimating, preferably with a general contractor. Additionally, the ideal candidate is able to produce estimates for smaller projects on an independent basis. This individual will be working under DC Construction's Chief Estimator.

We are known for our high-end residential work, commercial space build-outs, and historical restorations throughout the Bay Area. We have established a strong reputation for on-time and on-budget performance, quality workmanship, and most importantly, satisfied clients.
Responsibilities:
Set up project estimating framework. Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to determine scope of work and prepare accurate cost estimates. Collaborate with management, team members, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather necessary information for estimating purposes. Attend job-walks/site visits and document site conditions. Analyze project requirements and develop comprehensive bid proposals. Negotiate and manage suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing and achieve on-time milestones. Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors. Secure and set up construction contracts through competitive bidding.
Qualifications:
College degree
A.A./B.S./B.A.
preferred.
Construction Estimating:
3-5 years (general contracting experience required) Valid driver's license. Strong organizational skills, professionalism, and attention to detail. Exceptional time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively and work independently. Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English required; Spanish a plus). Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook). Familiarity with construction management software (Autodesk Construction Cloud, Building Connected), a plus. Able to maintain confidentiality and remain calm under pressure. Ability to read plans, blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings effectively. Strong understanding of contracts related to construction projects.
Preferred Project Experience:
Commercial TI ($250K•10M) Historical Projects Public Works (PWL, Section 3) Residential ($250•10M)
Additional Information:
Employment is contingent on successfully passing a background check and drug screening. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.
Compensation Starts At:
$55,000•90,000/yr, pending level of experience.
Shift & Schedule:
M-F 8:00AM-4:30PM, 8 hour shift, Overtime as needed
