Electrical Estimator Junior Estimator 3.8 3.8 out of 5 stars Rancho Cordova, CA 95742 $90,000 - $125,000 a year - Full-time Wild Electric Inc. 4 reviews $90,000 - $125,000 a year - Full-time Position Overview The Electrical Estimator or Junior Estimator will analyze project plans, specifications and other documents to prepare, or assist with, accurate cost estimating for electrical installations and projects and/or service type estimates. The estimator will collaborate with project managers, clients, and supervisors to ensure proposals meet the project requirements and are competitive in the market. Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills are essential, as is the ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously. Key Responsibilities Competitive Bids Review and analyze project plans and specifications to determine scope and requirements. Prepare and/or assist with detailed cost estimates for materials, labor, and equipment necessary for electrical projects in a timely manner. Solicit quotes from suppliers and subcontractors to obtain accurate pricing. Stay current with industry trends, building codes, and safety regulations. Collaborate with supervisors to review bids, discuss labor, materials, subcontractors, and final cost sheets. Post Bid Hand-Off Identify cost-saving opportunities, explore pre-fab solutions, and make recommendations as appropriate. Collaborate with project managers to develop project budgets. Create labor tracking cost codes and schedule of values for projects awarded. Organize and review project folder(s) for ease of transition to operations. Review the scope of work and verify vendor/subcontractors' scope(s) of work Team Support Review post bid RFP's and RFI's Price change orders as needed by operations.
Qualifications Experience:
Minimum of 5 years in electrical construction, in the capacity of an Electrical Estimator or minimum of 2 years in an Assistant/Junior Estimator/Comparable capacity for assistant or junior estimator role.
Education:
Associate's Degree, Trade School, or related discipline preferred.
Certification:
Electrical Journeyman card or Electrical State Certification is preferred but not required.
Skills:
Strong understanding of electrical systems and construction processes. Proven experience in the electrical industry. Knowledge/understanding of computers and software, e.g. Bluebeam/Procore/Accubid (preferred), McCormick, and/or Conest estimating software, as well as Excel and Word. Excellent analytical and mathematical skills. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills. Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to learn and retain information, as well as follow direction/instruction. Must be dependable
