Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Estimator- Bid Specialist to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will support the development of accurate and competitive project bids, ensuring alignment with client expectations and company goals. Your expertise will drive successful project acquisition, foster strong client relationships, and contribute to the overall growth of our operations. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional passionate about trucking and construction materials estimating to make a significant impact. Outline of Duties and Responsibilities The following is meant to provide a general overview of the essential job functions of the position and is not necessarily a complete and exhaustive list. Your duties for this position will include:
  • Update bid list daily from all available sources
  • Update job bidding calendar daily. Print and distribute as needed.
  • Prioritize upcomint jobs to bid based on profitability and timelines.
  • Establish job folders and obtain information necessary for bidding each job. Physical and digital files shall include: o Map of Project Location (all details of project site) o Quantities of materials being imported or exported o Material types and specifications intended to be supplied o Type of trucks and assets needed o Important dates and times o Additional information and links as needed
  • Ongoing follow-up and calls to discuss projects with contractor's as needed to determine issues, modifications and considerations.
  • Create job estimate (bid), using Excel bid program at least one month ahead of due date. o Keep updated and organized list of successful bids
  • Review job with Sales Manager and President, change estimate if needed and send out to customers as directed.
  • Answer and take phone inquiries regarding materials
  • Primary goal will be to find and place bids on no less than 70 projects each month.
  • Track all bid projects and results. o Create and continually update filing system for active estimates and unsuccessful bids for future use.
  • Take customer requests for delivery of materials and coordinate with dispatch to determine if trucks are available to deliver materials.
  • Assist office personnel to ensure jobs are bid correctly in accordance with estimates.
  • Check daily dispatch sheet to see if any jobs on sheet might have been quoted and need to be put into the office computer system.
  • Any and all other duties as required or directed by the Sales Manager and/or President.
Pay:
From $28.00 per hour
