Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a Senior Estimator for a direct hire opportunity in Upland, CA or San Marcos CA, supporting complex water and wastewater treatment, heavy civil, industrial infrastructure, and electrical construction projects. This role is ideal for an experienced construction estimating professional who understands the full bid process, from reviewing plans and specifications to preparing accurate material, labor, subcontractor, and supplier cost estimates. The Senior Estimator will work closely with Project Managers and estimating teams to develop competitive, complete, and well-supported bids. This is a strong opportunity for someone who enjoys technical estimating, detailed takeoffs, collaboration with operations, and contributing to critical infrastructure projects that serve local communities. The right candidate will be valued for accuracy, construction knowledge, relationship-building skills, and the ability to help deliver successful bids for challenging infrastructure projects. Key Responsibilities
  • Assist Project Managers throughout the full bid and estimating process, including plan review, quantity takeoffs, pricing, subcontractor coordination, and final bid preparation.
  • Perform detailed electrical takeoffs from project specifications, one-line diagrams, P&IDs, control schematics, MCC and VFD schedules, lighting plans, grounding plans, site plans, network diagrams, and riser diagrams.
  • Measure and quantify medium and low voltage distribution switchgear, MCCs, VFDs, soft starters, lighting and power panels, local control panels, vendor control panels, PLCs, RIOs, I/O points, instrumentation, and control wiring.
  • Estimate underground duct banks, raceways, process equipment power and control, precast concrete manholes, transformer pads, and related electrical infrastructure.
  • Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate pricing from subcontractors and suppliers to ensure accurate, competitive, and complete bid packages.
  • Identify costs related to general conditions, special conditions, construction sequencing, productivity factors, phased shutdowns, bypass pumping, confined spaces, and compressed schedules.
Compensation and Benefits Salary Range:
$130,000 to $160,000 per year.
